Great Butter Cookies Chris Bryant • Johnson City, Tenn.  1 c. Butter 1/2 c. Sugar 3 c. Flour 1 t. Vanilla Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips  Cream butter and sugar. Blend in flour and vanilla. Make into small balls and place on a greased cookie sheet. Indent center and add a chocolate chip. Bake at 350 degrees until light brown.  Pecan Cookies Helen Druse • Lafayette, Colo.  1 c. Butter, softened 3/4 c. Sugar 3/4 c. Brown Sugar, packed 2-1/2 c. Flour 1 t. Salt 2 c. Pecans, chopped 1 Egg 2 t. Vanilla 1 t. Almond 1 t. Baking Powder 1 t. Soda  In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugars. Beat in egg and extracts. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Gradually add to creamed mixture. Stir in pecans. Roll in 1-inch balls. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 11 to 12 minutes or until set. Cool for 3 minutes before removing to wire racks.
