Beer Bread

3 cups self-rising flour
1 12-oz. can beer at room temp (dark beer works best;
baking removes the alcohol)
3 Tbs. sugar

Combine all ingredients. Pour into greased loaf pan. Bake 50 minutes at 350 degrees, then brush with butter and bake 10 more minutes at 300. This turns out something like Irish soda bread. Not good for toast, but great for sandwiches or just munching.
