Feeling taxed? That could be because the holiday season is over and tax season has begun. If you operate a full-time or part-time farm, you’ll need to file a Schedule F tax return. The bottom line will depend on how well you understand the tax code and how well you keep records.

CSU-Larimer County Extension is offering an educational program to discuss strategies for managing farm tax liabilities. The “Optimizing Farm Taxes” class will be taught by Jeff Tranel, CSU Ag & Business Management Economist. It will be held at the Larimer County Fairgrounds McKee 4-H Building on Thursday, January 31, from 2 p.m.- 4 p.m. Registration is $10 for individuals, $15 for couples. A similar program will be held in Longmont on January 31, from 6:30 p.m.- 8:30 p.m. sponsored by the Boulder County Extension Office. Call (303) 678-6238 for more information about the Boulder County program.
