New officers elected for Nebraska Beef Council

New officers elected for Nebraska Beef Council



Kearney, Neb. – New officers for the Nebraska Beef Council were elected Jan. 19, 2009, at the Nebraska Beef Council office in Kearney, Neb.

Election results are as follows:

Dave Hamilton, a cow/calf producer from Thedford, Neb., was elected chairman. Hamilton represents producers in District 2, counties included are: Cherry, Grant, Hooker, Thomas, Blaine, Loup, Brown, Rock and Keya Paha.

Mark Spurgin, a farmer/feeder from Paxton, Neb., was elected as vice-chairman. Spurgin represents producers in District 6, counties included are: Arthur, McPherson, Logan, Keith, Lincoln, Perkins, Chase, Hayes, Dundy and Hitchcock.

Bill Rhea, Jr., a farmer/feeder from Arlington, Neb., was elected treasurer. Rhea represents producers in District 7, counties included are: Nance, Merrick, Hamilton, York, Polk, Platte, Colfax, Butler, Dodge, Saunders, Washington, Douglas, Cass and Sarpy.

Craig Uden, a feedlot operator from Elwood, Neb., was elected as secretary. Uden represents producers in District 9, counties included are: Dawson, Frontier, Gosper, Phelps, Kearney, Red Willow, Furnas, Harlan and Franklin.

Newly elected Directors Myron Danner and Rod Gray were in attendance for their first Board meeting. They were elected by producers in their district to represent them beginning January 2009 for a four year term.

Danner represents – District 5, counties included are: Custer, Garfield, Valley, Greeley, Sherman, Buffalo, Hall and Howard.

Gray represnets – District 1, counties included are Sioux, Dawes, Box Butte, Sheridan, Scottsbluff, Banner, Kimball, Cheyenne, Morrill, Garden and Deuel.
