SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. – Cattle feeders and cow-calf operators can learn more about storing distiller's grain during a meeting on July 6 in Scottsbluff sponsored by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
UN-L beef feedlot specialist Galen Erickson will make a short presentation via an audio-video internet linkup about issues such as storage losses and distiller's grain feed efficiency. Then he will take questions from the audience. The meeting is scheduled for 4 p.m. July 6 in the board room at the UN-L Panhandle Research and Extension Center.
Beef producers may have questions about how to store and use distiller's grain, a co-product of ethanol production, because it is readily available and cheap during the summer months, Extension Educator Tom Holman said. The July 6 meeting will provide an opportunity to learn more and have their questions answered. The meeting is free and no advance registration is required. Anyone with questions may call Holman at (308) 632-1480.
