The Wyoming Farm Bureau Federation recently awarded nine college scholarships to the children of Farm Bureau members.
“Providing opportunities for our members' children to receive a college education is what the Farm Bureau scholarship program is about,” Wyoming Farm Bureau President Perry Livingston said. “$5,500 is awarded at the state level. Add that to county Farm Bureau scholarships around the state and roughly $20,000 is awarded each year to children of Farm Bureau members in Wyoming. We are proud to support our youth.”
The Livingston-King scholarship is valued at $1,000. The scholarship is given in honor of former state presidents of the Wyoming Farm Bureau Federation Herbert D. Livingston and H.J. King as well as Norma Livingston, the mother of WyFB President Perry Livingston. The scholarship was awarded to Ashley Vigil, of Big Horn County. Ashley is the daughter of T. Daniel and Nicole Vigil of Basin.
The five Wyoming Farm Bureau Federation scholarships are $500 each. The recipients are: Miles Proctor, of Lusk, the son of Bill and Geri Proctor; Randa May, of Pine Bluffs, the daughter of Thomas and Roberta May; Raenell Edsall, of Hulett, the daughter of Ray Edsall; Brent Horton, of Riverton, the son of Stan and Patricia Horton; and Ashley Anglen, of Fort Bridger, the daughter of Robert and Verlynn Anglen.
The three continuing education scholarships are also $500 each. The continuing education scholarship recipients must submit at least two years of college transcripts. The recipients are: Christen Harns, of Farson; the daughter of Christopher and Carolyn Harns; Carrie Harns, of Farson, the daughter of Christopher and Carolyn Harns; and Tucker Hamilton, of Osage, the son of Monte and Francie Hamilton.
Scholarship applications are due March 1, each year and are available at local county Farm Bureau offices or at www.wyfb.org.
“Congratulations to each of the recipients,” Livingston concluded. “We wish them the best in their continued education endeavors.”
