Joe F. Mautz, Jr.

Joe F. Mautz, Jr., 65, of Olathe, Colo., passed away October 7, 2009, at his home with his family by his side.

He was born on March 13, 1944 to Joe and Angelina (Gianinetti) Mautz in Aspen, Colo. Following an accident to his father, Joe started to run the family ranch, a profession he had for the rest of his life.

Joe attended Carbondale High School and Mesa State College.

On January 6, 1973, Joe married Penney Cerise. To this union two sons were born.

In 1994, Joe and his family moved to Olathe, Colo., where they ran a successful cattle feedlot, and were starting a composting/grinding business.

Joe was a devoted family man, and an extremely hard worker. In his spare time, Joe enjoyed making things work better, and spending time with his family. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him, but he will remain in their hearts forever.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years Penney; his two sons and their wives, Kirt and Deanna Mautz of Olathe, Colo., and Keith and Holly Mautz of Orchard City, Colo., his granddaughter, Kaylee Mautz and one brother.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents.
