Spring is here and Ranch-Way Feeds is busy preparing for its annual Buckle and Banner Prospect Show. On May 15, kids will be arriving at The Ranch in Loveland, Colo., ready to show their best hogs, goats, lambs, and steers for a chance to win money and prizes.

This year Ranch-Way is adding $275 per species and paying the top five placings in each class, along with giving away some great prizes including show boxes and clippers. In addition, if the Grand or Reserve Grand Champion animal has been fed All American Show Feeds, Ranch-Way will provide $200 in added prize money for the Grand Champion and $100 for Reserve Grand Champion.

Ranch-Way encourages all of the kids to participate in the showmanship portion of the contest and this year the Grand and Reserve Champion in each species will receive a chair and prize money. There are classes for Novice, Junior, Intermediates and Seniors in the hogs, goats and lambs. Cattle showmen have the chance to win a chair in the Junior, Intermediate and Senior showmanship competition. A novice class is not offered for cattle showman, but younger kids are encouraged to bring a bucket calf and have some fun in the bucket calf class!

Prospect cattle will weigh in from 6 a.m. until 8 a.m. and Krisha Ripsam will begin judging the cattle at 8:30 a.m. Weigh in for the hogs will start at 6 a.m. and end at 8 a.m. with Tad Knight judging at 9 a.m. Goats are the next to weigh in from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. and Al Schminke will start judging at 10:30. Lambs will wrap up the weigh in from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. and Mr. Schminke will start evaluating the show lambs immediately following the goat show. More details about the show can be found on the web at http://www.Ranch-Way.com or by calling (970) 482-1662.

So, on May 15 load up your show animal, put on your best shirt and jeans, and come join Ranch-Way for some fun and the best jackpot in Northern Colorado.
