June R. Brown
June R. Brown, 90, of Wymore, Neb., passed away September 12, 2013, at the Wymore Good Samaritan Center.
She was born on June 9, 1923 in Omaha, Neb., to Coy and Mabel (Ripple) Arnold.
She was raised in Beatrice and had been employed at Formfit, the Beatrice State Developmental Center, and the Good Samaritan Center in Beatrice.
June and Henry L. Brown were married on September 21, 1940. She had attended the Salvation Army Church for none years.
June enjoyed baking, cooking, canning, flowers, crocheting, reading (especially Christian books), word search puzzles, playing bingo, and following the Atlanta Braves. Survivors include two sons, Ronald Brown and wife Diane of Beatrice, Neb., and Gary Brown and wife Josie of Orlando, Fla.; two daughters Meredith Snyder and husband Ron of Blue Springs, Neb., and Carolyn McConnell of Beatrice, Neb.; sister Deloris Wrich of Tekamah, Neb.; brother Charles Arnold of Eugene, Ore.; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Coy and Mabel (Ripple) Arnold; husband Henry Brown (2000); one great granddaughter; and three brothers.
Funeral services were held September 16, 2013 at the Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home in Wymore, Neb. Interment followed at the Blue Springs Cemetery.

Alicia Marie Ross
Alicia Marie Ross, 24, passed away September 7, 2013.
She was born in O’Neill, Neb., on May 17, 1989.
Alicia grew up on the ranch at Millboro, S.D. She attended grade school at Beaver Creek, a one room school, with all the neighbor kids as her friends. Alicia attended high school at Valentine Rural High School. She attended Pratt Community College in Pratt, Kan., on a rodeo scholarship, obtaining her Associate Degree. After college she worked for Kansas Department of Wildlife Parks and Tourism in Pratt, Kan.
Family and friends were very important to her. In May 2013 she moved “Back Home” to the people and country she loved. Alicia was currently working at the Middle Niobrara Natural Resources District in Valentine, Neb.
In her free time she enjoyed going to the ranch to rope and ride horses. She was always eager to help out, and branding time was one of her favorites. She often celebrated her birthday this way. She dearly loved her little dog Jupiter, affectionately known to her as Jupy. They were inseparable.
Alicia loved her family with all her heart and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include parents, Wesley and Donella of Millboro, S.D., fiancée Brandon Bennett of Valentine, Neb., brothers Jake and his wife Scotti of Callaway, Neb., Joe of Pratt, Kan., sister Beth Ross of Millboro, S.D., niece Kennadi Ross of Valentine, Neb., and Grandfather Bernard Ross of Millboro, S.D. Also surviving are aunts, uncles and a host of cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by grandparents Norman and Lola Strain and Shirley Ross.
Services were held September 11, 2013 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Valentine, Neb. Burial followed at Ascension Chapel Cemetery near Millboro, S.D.
