Barbara L. Ruser
Barbara L. Ruser, 83, of North Platte, Neb., passed away at her home on October 2, 2013.
Barbara was born September 1, 1930 in Ogallala, Neb., to Jack and Edith Sarah (Warford) Cassen.
She grew up there and graduated from Ogallala High School in 1948. On April 20, 1952 Barbara married Dick Ruser. To this union three children were born: Kevin Lee, Cynthia Joyce and Cathy Sue.
Dick and Barbara made their home on a farm northwest of Grant, Neb. She was a farm wife and managed the family farm until her death. She also worked for 20 years at TRW in Ogallala, Neb. After retiring she enjoyed her favorite pastime of supporting her grandchildren in all their activities. She was an avid NE Cornhusker fan and attended many football games. After Dick’s death in 1974, Barbara made her home in Grant for the next 33 years; she then moved to North Platte.
Barbara is survived by her children Kevin (Vanessa) Ruser of Lincoln, Neb., Cindi (John) Kennedy of Eaton, Colo., and Cathy (Leland) Poppe of North Platte, Neb.; eight grandchildren, Sean (Debi) Kennedy of Northglen, Colo., Stuart Kennedy of Denver, Colo., Natasha Ruser of Chicago, Ill., Sophia (David) Ruser of Albuquerque, N.M., Ethan and Ellie Ruser-Pertusa of Lincoln, Neb., Rick and Natalie Poppe of North Plate, Neb.; and one great-granddaughter Audrey Sage Kennedy of Northglen, Colo.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Edith Cassen, and her husband Dick Ruser.
Services were held October 5, 2013 at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church.

Stanley R. McGill
Stanley R. McGill, 91, of Lincoln, Neb., passed Away October 8, 2013.
He was born Born October 30, 1921 in rural Waverly, Neb., to John C. and Elizabeth (Jeffery) McGill.
Ret. Farmer and Head of Shipping at National Crane Company for 35 years. Member of First United Methodist Church in Waverly. He was a member of George Washington Lodge 250, A.F. & A.M., Scottish Rite, and the Sesostris Temple of the Shrine. Stan was an avid bridge player, loved to dance and read.
Family members include his wife Phyllis R.; sons, Lawrence D. (Marilyn) McGill of Salt Lake City, Utah, John L. (Patricia) McGill of Waverly, Neb., AFS son, Andrew (Lyn) MacKenzie of Australia; grandchildren, Lisa (Charles) Arnold, Sean (Tiffany) McGill, Marchelle (Peter) Sanchez, Mark (Agata) McGill, Mallori (Dan) DeSalle, James (Brenda) McGill, Joel (Katy) McGill; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Mary Bowmaster; in-laws; and nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents, granddaughter, Lorice McGill, brothers, Harold, Richard, David and Robert.
Services were held October 12, 2013 at First United Methodist Church in Waverly, Neb.
