Stanley W. Stockton

Stanley W. Stockton, 72, of Hotchkiss, Colo., passed away on November 17, 2013, at his home on Rogers Mesa, Colo.

Stanley Walter Stockton was born on March 5, 1941, in Eureka, Calif., to Walter O. and Lillian Jean (Allen) Stockton.

He spent his childhood in Eureka and graduated from high school there. He furthered his education at a Junior College in Arizona.

Stan was married to the love of his life Margaret Ann (McGinnis) Stockton. Stan married Margaret on May 25, 1988, on a ranch near Nederland, Colo.

He has been a resident of Hotchkiss, Colorado for the past 19 years.

Stan honorably served his country in the United States Navy.

He loved being a cowboy, Stan was an avid hunter, fly fisherman, and loved to do anything outdoors. He was a great conservationist.

Stan was a member of the National Rifle Association, Stengel’s Gun Range, and various hunting and fishing organizations.

Stan is survived by his wife, Margaret Ann Stockton of Hotchkiss, Colo.; two daughters: Leslie Bazzi of Corvallis, Ore., and Shannon Stockton of Fernley, Nev.; one sister, Marji Smith of Ferndale, Calif.; four grandchildren; and two nieces and children.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Lillian Stockton.

Michael R. Williams

Michael R. Williams, 58, of Austin, Colo., passed away on November 16, 2013, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, Colo.

Michael was born on April 10, 1955, in Bakersfield, Calif., to Billy Joe and Gwendolyne Jeanene (Helton) Williams.

He spent his childhood in Bakersfield and graduated from North High School in 1974. He furthered his education at Bakersfield Community College.

Michael was married to Robin L. Sitton on October 13, 2001. He has been a resident of Delta area, Colorado since 1993.

He was a Baptist.

Michael loved riding his Harley and the outdoors: camping, hunting and four-wheeling. He also enjoyed working in his yard and “fixing” things.

Michael was a member of the Jaycee’s, 4-H and Thunder Mountain Wheelers. He was a softball coach for the Surface Creek area.

Michael is survived by his wife, Robin Williams; one son, Dakota Morton and spouse, Jennifer of Killeen, Texas; three daughters: Jeanene Williams of Austin, Colo.; Tricia Morton of Grand Junction, Colo., and Kristi Schilly of Bakersfield, Calif.; three sisters: Sherry Arnold and spouse, Marty of Oildale, Calif.; Tammie Bridwell and spouse, Sheila of Borger, Texas; and Deedee Rikala and spouse Dale of Lewiston, Mont.; two grandchildren, Ayden and Weston; several nieces and nephews and numerous great friends.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Gwendolyne Williams.

Services were held November 23, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Delta, Colo.

The family suggests memorial contributions to be made in Michael’s memory to one of the following: Wounded Warriors, 4-H Club or to Michael Williams Memorial Fund at any Wells Fargo Bank Center.
