Roy Hojio
Roy Hojio, 94, of Greeley, Colo., passed away March 21, 2013 at his residence.
He was born September 14, 1918 in Bayard, Neb., to Joe and Maude (Mays) Hojio.
Roy served in the U.S. Army and was a farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Hojio; children, Debora (Larry) Beeman, Teri (David) Deviney and Mike (Rose) Hojio; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a loving extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
Memorial services with Military Honors were held March 27, 2013 at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colo.

Mary Doris Ebendorf (Greer)
Mary Doris Ebendorf (Greer), 86, passed away March 9, 2013 at the Washington County Nursing in Akron, Colo.
She was born February 21, 1927 in Topeka, Kan., to Clarence Alfred Greer and Amelia Martha Tretter. She was the third of nine children.
On December 8, 1945 she married Ova Kelsey Ebendorf in Hugo, Colo. They were married for 67 years. Mary and Ova had three children.
Mary has resided in Denver, Littleton, Limon, Lindon, Woodrow, Brush, Last Chance, and Akron, Colo.
Throughout her life she was always an active person. Mary was involved in the community with the Rural Extension Clubs, Akron County Fair, 4-H, and her children’s school activities.
Mary felt education was important and completed her GED and Associates in Arts at Fort Morgan Community College at 59 years of age.
She also did a great deal of reading. She had a special heart for her canine friends who were great companions in her later years.
She had a passion for art, painting several oil pictures and teaching ceramic classes in her home. She quilted beautiful quilts for her family. Mary also enjoyed singing, playing the harmonica and guitar. Her creative nature led her to write poetry and short stories. Her artistic character was shown in her pristine gardening.
Mary was a stay at home mom, great cook, known for her homemade chicken and noodles. She always had her morning coffee and always had a pot brewing. She welcomed guests and portrayed a hospitable and fun nature.
Being in Washington County Nursing Home was difficult for her at first. Soon she discovered friends among the other residents and was affectionately known as “The Bingo Queen.” One of her greatest joys was her relationship with treasured friends and winning at Bingo.
She is survived by brothers, Jim, Don and Richard, sisters, Geri, Rose and Sally, husband, Ova; children, Gary Kelsey, married to Jimmie Berg and Valerie Jean, married to Buddy Williams; grandchildren, Slade and Brittney; seven great-grandchildren, Ryan, Cole, Alex, Nolan, Bryce, Titus, Lileigh.
She was preceded in death by daughter, Margie Lynn and her parents.
At Mary’s request, no services will be held.

George H. Bush
George H. Bush, 89, of Greeley, Colo., passed away March 24, 2013 at Hospice of Northern Colorado.
He was born February 18, 1924 to Frank H. and Mary Elizabeth (Bucy) Bush in Maxwell, N.M. George grew up in Prospect Valley and graduated from Prospect Valley High School. On January 24, 1946 he married Elsie Erker in Keenesburg, Colo.
George grew up farming and started a new career in banking in 1970. He was a man of strong faith was dedicated to and loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Evans Senior Center and a lifetime member of Brighton Elks Lodge.
He is survived by his daughter, Beverly (John) Wehrman of LaSalle, Colo.; sons, Bob (Lil) Bush of Greenwood Village, Colo., Ron (Kathy) Bush of Frisco, Texas; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Ferraro of Denver, Colo.; special friend, Mary Scheel of Greeley, Colo.; numerous nieces; nephews; and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie; his parents; brothers and sisters.
Memorial services were held March 28, 2013 all at Adamson Chapel.
Interment was at Elmwood Cemetery in Brighton, Colo.

Lori Marie Wofford–Sampson
Lori Marie Wofford–Sampson, 41, of Brush, Colo., passed away March 17, 2013, unexpectedly at her home.
She was born December 28, 1971, in Brush, Colo., to Robert S. & Kay M. (Loose) Weimer.
Lori graduated from Fort Morgan High School in 1990. She lived in several communities in Colorado but always considered Morgan County to be her home. At the time of her death, Lori worked at the Brush Pizza Hut. She was an excellent cook.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence Sampson of Brush, Colo.; her children, Matt Weimer of Westminster, Colo., Devjuan Wofford and Gabrielle Wofford both of Pueblo, Colo.; her father and step-mother, Bob and Kay Weimer of Fort Morgan, Colo.; her mother, Kay Lutes of Loveland, Colo.; two sisters, Wendy Weimer of Hot Springs, S.D., and Stephy Penfold of Sterling, Colo.; and her paternal grandmother, Rose Weimer of Fort Morgan, Colo.
Memorial services were held March 23, 2013 at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Brush, Colo.
Margaret Lawson
Margaret (Mitzel) Lawson, 96, Carr, Colo., passed away March 21, 2013 at the Life Care Center of Cheyenne, Wyo.
She was born to Henrich and Margaret (Bachman) Mitzel on May 14, 1916 at Keota, Colo. Margaret married George (Buck) Lawson, who passed away in 1999. They had three daughters: Loretta, who passed away as a child, Georgia Ann Dorsey and Lorna Lee Dunlap.
Margaret gathered many loyal and loving friends along her lifetime. She was a wonderful and lasting presence in the lives she was part of. She truly was an honorable woman.
She is survived by two daughters, Georgia Dorsey, husband Buzz and Lorna Dunlap; three grandchildren, Tom and his wife Cindy Dorsey, Pam Dorsey and Mr. Kelly Collins, and Katie (Cozad) and her husband Rock Hodgson; great-grandchildren, Garret Flack and Cathy Stewart, Lindsey Flack, Joshua Lewis and his wife Theresa, Breann Davis and her husband Mat, Emily England and her husband Matt, Amanda Lewis, Lauren Hodgson, Reed Hodgson and Alexia Hodgson.; great-great-grandchildren, Christopher Mathews, Taylor and Kadance Flack, Austin, Teyah and Karra Lewis.
Memorial services were held March 29, 2013 at the Allnutt Macy Chapel.

Arthur Lee (Art) Meisner
Arthur Lee (Art) Meisner, 80, of Greeley, Colo., passed away March 22, 2013, at the Fairacres Manor nursing home in Greeley.
He was born in Windsor, Colo., on June 1, 1932, to Henry and Mollie Long Meisner.
Art grew up on the family farm northeast of Greeley, Colo., attended Peter Brown School, and graduated from College High in 1950. On June 15, 1952, he married Marcia Poe Danley, and to this union one daughter, Georgia, was born.
Art graduated from Colorado State College of Education in 1955, with a degree in industrial arts and was active in the Air Force ROTC. In August of 1955, Art was commissioned into the Air Force and graduated from pilot training school with class 56V out of Bainbridge Air Base, Ga. During his tour of duty, he was stationed at Ellington and Harlingen Air Base in Texas, as well as three years at Tachikawa Air Force Base in Tokyo, Japan. He was honorably discharged on October 19, 1962, at the rank of Captain. After his Air Force service, Art began a long career in the sugar industry as an agriculturist and member of the Labor Department of Great Western Sugar Co. After Great Western went out of business, he was executive manager of the SUGRO sugar beet growers association and finished his career in sugar at the Greeley sugar factory during the beet campaigns.
Art was a detailed craftsman and enjoyed restoring Victorian homes and furniture, carving and painting butterflies and other woodworking. He was awarded a U.S. Patent for his “shadow clock” design.
He is survived by his wife, Marcia, Greeley, Colo.; daughter, Georgia (Lelan) Steiner, Berthoud, Colo.; four granddaughters, Andrea Steiner, Dana Steiner, and Hannah Steiner, Loveland, Colo., and Krista Steiner, Fort Collins, Colo.; sisters, Nadine (Julian) Kler, Greeley, Colo., and Daun Meisner, Albuquerque, N.M.; brother-in-laws, Harvey Weber, Greeley, Jim Danley, Eaton, and Jon Danley, Denver.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Oleta Belle Weber.
Per Art’s request there will be no funeral service. An informal gathering of family and friends will be planned for a later date. ❖
Dolly Kraus
Dolly Kraus, 94, passed away March 16, 2013, at Windsor Health Care Center.
She was born May 1, 1918, on a farm southeast of Severance, Colo.
Dolly was the youngest, and last living child of Frederick and Susanna Daubert Martin Wassemiller, both Germans from Russia. Dolly married Dave (Si) Kraus, and they farmed in the Windsor, Colo., and Severance, Colo., area, until their retirement from farming in 1972.
Dolly loved music and began playing the piano in Sunday school, when she was 14 years old. She then went on to be the organist for the church and then later she played the piano for the church choir. Dolly was a charter member of Faith United Church of Christ, formerly Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Dolly’s hobbies were church activities, spending time with her family, cooking and reading recipes, and playing the piano.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen and her husband, Harold (Steven) Schmidt; grandchildren, Marty Krause of Denver, Colo., Kelly Kraus of Greeley, Colo., Chad and his wife, Michelle Schmidt of Windsor, Colo., Lana and her husband, Tom St. John of Highlands Ranch, Colo., Susan Schmidt of Windsor, Colo., and Shauna and her husband, Corey Stewart of Eaton, Colo.; 10 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in her death by her husband, Dave (Si) Kraus; son, Larry Kraus; and grandson, Monte Kraus.
Memorial services were held March 21, 2013, at Faith United Church of Christ in Windsor, Colo.
Interment was at Lakeview Cemetery in Windsor, Colo.
