Emma Lou DeYoung

Emma Lou DeYoung, 85, of Delta, Colo., passed away on October 13, 2013 at her residence in Delta, Colo.

Emma Lou DeYoung was born on April 1, 1928, to John Reichling Sr. and Clarinda (Conner) Reichling in Watertown, S.D.



She spent her childhood on a farm in Waverly, S.D., and attended a country school there. Emma graduated from the University of Norte Dame in 1948 with a degree in teaching.

On October 7, 1950, Emma Lou married the love of her life, Samuel John DeYoung in Watertown, S.D. The couple celebrated 58 years of marriage together.



She enjoyed softball, basketball, traveling, camping, and hunting but most of all she enjoyed riding motorcycle with her best friend, husband Sam. She loved her children and grandchildren.

She was a member of the Delta First Assembly of God church and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Emma Lou is survived by her sister Lucille Mack of Lincoln, Neb.; six sons, David DeYoung of Delta, Colo., Michael DeYoung of Grand Junction, Colo., Daniel (Patty) DeYoung of White, S.D., Patrick (Deb) DeYoung of Brandon, S.D., Francis (Babett) DeYoung of Grand Junction, Colo., Raymond (Cris) DeYoung of Bremerton, Wash.; three daughters Phyllis (John) Hart of Spearfish, S.D., JoAnne (Mark Mahaffie) Campbell of Craig, Colo., Deanna (Dale) Haag of Delta, Colo.; 18 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel; parents, John and Clarinda Reichling; three brothers; and one sister.

Services were held October 17, 2013 at the Delta First Assembly in Delta, Colo. Interment followed at the Veteran Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado located in Grand Junction, Colo.

Billy D. Kissner

Billy Kissner, 49, of Cedaredge, Colo., passed away on October 12, 2013 at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, Colo.

Billy was born to Bill and Martha Kissner on June 27, 1964, in Delta, Colo.

He spent his childhood and attended public schools in Cedaredge, Colo. Billy graduated from Cedaredge High School in 1982.

On January 14, 1984 Billy married Raelynn Sluski in Las Vegas, Nev. They had two children, Kurt and Danielle.

Billy owned and operated a drilling company, he enjoyed the outdoors, animals, horses, cattle, when he was younger he enjoyed rodeoing, he coached kids of all ages in several sports. His greatest enjoyment was being a grandpa.

Billy is survived by his son Kurt (Julie) Kissner of Grand Junction, Colo.; his daughter, Danielle (Travis) Toombs of Montrose, Colo.; His parents Bill and Martha Kissner of Cedaredge, Colo., three sisters, Luann (Dennis) Harriman of Gulf Port, Mich., Judi (Robbie) Schmalz of Delta, Colo., Celia (Jeff) Avaritte of Austin, Colo.; and two grandchildren; Trinity Toombs and Gracelynn Kissner.

Billy was preceded in death by, his wife Raelynn Kissner, and one sister Karmen Lyons.

Services were held October 18, 2013 at New Hope Evangelical Free Church in Cedaredge.
