4-H Horse Camp dates announced

The 4-H Horse Camp at Fort Robinson State Park near Chadron, Neb., has announced their dates as June 9-11, 2011. The camp is open to youth all ages 8 years old and up.

The camp divides youth into three different levels including Junior, Intermediate and Senior. The event schedule includes programs geared for each level.

Friday, June 10, begins with programs on building a horse first aid kit, horse photography, and a horse judging contest. Then continues the afternoon with a program titled Hit the Riggs-Walters Trail Ride with Trail Bosses by Desirae Bruner and Tom Walters.



On Saturday, youth will care for their horses and attend a country-style breakfast provided courtesy of Danette Hudson at the campground area. Then a scenic Wood Reserve Trail Ride is planned before campers head home.
