4-H Robotics Training offered Nov. 30

Ashley Benes
Hall County Extension

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension in Hall County is offering adults the opportunity to learn about robotics and geocaching through the GEAR TECH-21 program. Middle school youth need your leadership to start robotics, GPS, and GIS clubs and 4-H projects. Take this opportunity to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers. This workshop is designed to give you the basic knowledge you need to get started with robotics, GPS, and GIS. This is a great opportunity for 4-H club leaders, teachers, or anyone interested in helping youth with robotics clubs or projects. No experience with robotics or computer technology is necessary.

An Adult/Leader Training will be conducted in Wood River at the First United Methodist Church from 1-5 p.m. on Nov. 30, 2010. Following the training, a group meeting for any youth and parents interested in joining a robotics club in Hall County will be held. This meeting will be at 7:00 p.m. and will provide youth with an opportunity to ask questions and see some great demonstrations on project possibilities available to them through 4-H curriculum. You need not be a 4-H member to attend. There is no cost to attend either the training or the meeting.

If interested in attending the Adult/Leader Training, please contact Ashley Benes at the UNL Extension in Hall County office at (308) 385-5088 or abenes3@unl.edu.
