A fresh start for Spring Affair planned April 23-24
LINCOLN, Neb. – Spring Affair makes a fresh start at the Lancaster Event Center April 23-24 in Lincoln. The largest volunteer-run plant sale in America, it is an April tradition for plant-lovers from all over the state. It was held at State Fair Park since its beginning in 1987, but the new location at 84th and Havelock offers more room for plants and plant-lovers.
Spring Affair Coordinator Susan Budler says the 2010 event will be bigger and better than ever. The plant sale continues to grow in popularity, along with the growing number of plant selections. With more than 1,000 plant varieties available, Budler says “If there’s a plant you’ve been having trouble finding, this is the place to come.” The plants are selected for regional suitability, uniqueness and for popular demand and are provided by Bluebird Nursery, Inc. of Clarkson, Neb.
The 24th annual Spring Affair plant sale is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m Saturday, April 24 at the Lancaster Event Center, 84th and Havelock in Lincoln. Admission to the sale is free. The plant sale is in Pavilion I, on the northeast edge of the Lancaster Event Center, with plenty of parking available north of Pavilion I.
