Authentic 1910 Christmas dinner planned at Fort Robinson State Park
LINCOLN, Neb. – Tickets go on sale Nov. 1 for the annual Historical Christmas Dinner at Fort Robinson State Park.
The Dec. 4 dinner features the menu from the original Fort Robinson U.S. Cavalry 1910 Christmas dinner. The menu includes roast turkey with cranberry sauce, fresh boiled ham, potatoes lyonnaise, asparagus with cream sauce, squash, sweet potatoes, oxtail soup, chocolate cake, jelly rolls, three different pies, and Parker House rolls. Guests are encouraged to dress in 1910 attire.
The 200 tickets for the dinner will be available on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 8 a.m. on Nov. 1. Tickets, limited to four per person, will be available at the park office, Chadron Chamber of Commerce and Corner Market in Harrison, Neb.
The dinner is a cooperative project of the park, Nebraska Historical Museum and the communities of Crawford, Chadron, Harrison, Whitney, and others. Call the park office at (308) 665-2900 to volunteer to help with the event or decorate historical buildings.
