Representatives Bob Goodlatte and Jim Costa have introduced legislation to reduce or eliminate the volumes of renewable fuel use mandated by the Renewable Fuels Standard based upon corn stocks-to-use ratios. A number of leading biofuel organizations – including Growth Energy – are warning against the proposed changes. For one thing – Growth Energy CEO Tom Buis says there’s an inherent risk associated with basing public policy on frequently changing stocks-to-use data reported by USDA. He says that would add a level of complication to the RFS and would not work effectively. Secondly – Buis says the legislation is simply unnecessary.

Vilsack: Work on climate-smart ag should begin before next farm bill
