Board will consider big game recommendations

The Nebraska Game and Parks Board of Commissioners will consider 2011 big game hunting recommendations at its meeting March 18, 2011, in Lincoln, Neb.

The meeting begins at 8 a.m. in the third-floor conference room of Game and Parks headquarters, 2200 N. 33rd St. A public hearing on big game recommendations will begin at 8:45 a.m.

Also, the board will consider staff requests to:

– approve potential – waterfowl zone boundary changes that will be proposed to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

– exchange 8.1 acres of land in Saunders County known as Pioneer State Recreation Area for 40 acres of land in Dawes County, which is adjacent to Bighorn Wildlife Management Area.

– enter into a cooperative agreement with the Village of Arnold in Custer County to rehabilitate the fish community and habitat in Arnold Lake and improve angler access.
