Bonus Ranching Seminar planned Dec. 17

MULLEN, Neb. – The UNL Extension, Nebraska Department of Economic Development, NW Nebraska High Country, Sandhills RC&D and the Sandhills Journey Scenic Byway are partnering to host a Bonus Ranching Seminar at the 4-H Camp in Halsey, Neb., on Dec. 17, 2010.

This conference will be a day-long event starting at 8:30 a.m.

The speakers will include Jim Lees of the Ox Yoke Ranch presenting “Ranchers Working Together to Develop Enterprises.” Mike Kesselring of High Plains Homestead will speak on the topic of “Can I Run a Second Business with My Wife and Still Live with Her?”

The seminar will host numerous other speakers with subjects covering web marketing, agro tourism, hunting operations and trail riding. The fee for the entire day including lunch is $20 if you pre-register. It will be $25 at the door.

North Dakota farmer detained in Ukraine


A North Dakota farmer with business dealings in Ukraine now finds himself in custody there, accused by authorities in that country of plotting an assassination attempt against Ukraine’s agriculture minister, DTN/The Progressive Farmer has reported.
