Colorado Agriculture Hall of Fame, Feb. 18

The 21st Annual Colorado Agriculture Hall of Fame Banquet will bring together members of the agricultural community, allied industries and friends and supporters from across the state to celebrate the colorful history of the Colorado Agriculture industry. This year the Agriculture Hall of Fame will induct four new members into its ranks.

Dr. John Matsushima of Ft. Collins, Colo., Mr. Andrew Mair (posthumously), Mr. Donald Norgren of Platteville, Colo., and Mr. Jim Read formerly of Sterling, Colo., will be honored for their lifetime achievements in agriculture during a banquet and ceremony, Feb. 18, 2010, 5:30 p.m., at the Renaissance Hotel in Denver, Colo.

The banquet is held in conjunction with the Governor’s Forum on Colorado Agriculture and is a prime opportunity to gauge the direction of the industry and lean about issues facing one of the largest industries in Colorado. Both the forum and the banquet are attended by industry and political leaders as well as family farmers and ranchers who lead and support the agriculture industry and its future.

Hosted by the Colorado FFA Foundation, the banquet is held yearly to induct members into the Agriculture Hall of Fame who have significantly contributed to Colorado’s second largest industry. The Colorado FFA Foundation will host an open reception for inductees, their families, guests and banquet participants at 4:30 p.m., in the Renaissance Hotel; the banquet will begin at 5:30 p.m. A unique, multi-media presentation will highlight the life of each new inductee during the ceremony.
