Colorado livestock industry receives clarification on sales tax rules
The Colorado livestock industry has received final clarification on the implementation of the repeal of the sales tax exemptions on manufactured feeds, according to Ivan Steinke of the Colorado Livestock Association.
Steve Gabel, president of the CLA, had appointed a task force to get the clarifications, and he said he was happy with the outcome following numerous conversations with the Colorado Department of Revenue, Colorado Department of Agriculture and the CLA. He said, in a CLA posting, that the final clarification provided the livestock feeding industry significant savings and added the interpretation “will help in keeping Colorado feeding operations competitive.”
