Colorado Master Farm Homemakers
Colorado Master Farm Homemakers Guild is accepting nominations for 2010 members. Rural women actively involved in agriculture or those who have retired from a farm or ranch livelihood are eligible. At least 51 percent of the family income must come from a ranching or farming operation. Honorees are selected on the basis of leadership, family life and community involvement; Colorado Master Farm Homemaker Guild recognizes rural women who give unselfishly of time and service to their families and communities.
Nominations should be submitted by an organization (including governing boards, school or church classes, or other recognized groups.) A nominee does not have to be a member of the group submitting her name. One winner will be selected from each of nine districts in Colorado. The Guild seeks nominations from every area of the state, reflecting Colorado’s diverse agricultural background. Deadline for nominations is July 15.
Established in 1954, the Colorado Master Farm Homemaker award program is sponsored by the Colorado Cattlemen’s Association, Colorado Farm Bureau, and Rocky Mountain Farmers Union, along with the Colorado Master Farm Homemakers Guild. Also helping with sponsorship are the Colorado CattleWomen, Colorado State Grange and CSU Extension.
