Colorado wheat growers meet with U.S. reps from Colorado
Officers of the Colorado Association of Wheat Growers, including Jerry Cooksey of Roggen who is president of the organization, met with members and staff of the state’s congressional delegation while attending the National Association of Wheat Growers meeting in Washington last month to discuss issues important to Colorado wheat producers.
“We discussed continued wheat research both at Colorado State University and the Central Great Plains Research Station, trade issues primarily with Cuba and Colombia, crop insurance issues, rail issues and the Conservation Reserve Program. We also shared our views on Cap and Trade,” Cooksey said in a press release.
CAWG is a voluntary membership association that lobbies on behalf of wheat growers at the state and national levels of government and provides special programs and benefits to dues paying members.
