Family Shooting Sports Expo, June 20
On Saturday, June 20, 2009, the Weld County Fish & Wildlife Association/High Plains Shooting Range is hosting their “Third Annual – Family Shooting Sports Expo,” from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Galeton, Colo.
Try your hand at Cowboy Action, High Power Rifle, Benchrest, Fast Paced Pistol and Revolver Shooting (IPSC, ICORE and Action Pistol), Trap and Skeet, Archery and much more.
Admission is free and all visitors will enjoy a Free Safety Class before going out on the range to spend time discovering the fun of some of the most popular shooting sports in the U.S.
Ladies and children will be able to shoot .22 caliber rifles and pistols free all day long, courtesy of the Colorado Division of Wildlife.
As a private shooting club, Weld County Fish and Wildlife Association/High Plains Shooting Range is not actively seeking membership at this time. In fact, there’s a long waiting list each year made up of folks hoping there will be an opening they can step into.
This wonderful Family Event is put on each year by the club to provide an opportunity for beginners to “Test the waters”, so to speak, and experience a wide range of shooting sports in a fun and safe environment.
The Family Shooting Sports Expo is made possible through the generous support of Expo Sponsors such as Burris Optics, KFKA Radio/1310 AM, Front Range Gun Club, Benelli, Great Guns Sporting, Garretson’s Sports Center, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Pawnee Grassland, Northern Colorado Fife and Drum Corps, Colorado State Patrol, Weld County Sheriff’s Office, United States Marines, and The National Rifle Association.
Visitors will have the opportunity to take home free gifts and door prizes courtesy of the Event Sponsors.
Food and drinks will be available.
For the Expo, all Firearms, Ammunition, Bows and Arrows will be provided by WCF&W and the Event Sponsors.
Please note that no personal firearms, ammo, etc. will be allowed on the ranges during the Expo.
