Farm to School gets $5 million in omnibus
The fiscal year 2018 omnibus appropriations bill contains $5 million in discretionary funding for the Agriculture Department’s Farm to School Grant Program, which doubles the current available funding, the National Farm to School Network said in a news release.
The group credited Senate Appropriations Committee Chairman Thad Cochran, R-Miss., and ranking member Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., for inserting the provision.
