National FFA Week will be Feb. 22-26. Many events are planned for the Eaton FFA Chapter during this week including a FFA Pride, teacher’s appreciation breakfast, an animal farm, drive your tractor to school day, and a teach ag day.
FFA pride will be on Monday Feb. 22, FFA students will wear their official dress during the school day to promote FFA awareness. The teachers’ appreciation breakfast will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 23. We would like to invite all members of the community to our Animal Farm which will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 24. During the animal farm we will have various farm animals for people to see. We will also demonstration how to shell corn and all of the uses of corn.
For Teach Ag day we will be teaching all agricultural students about what it is like to be an agricultural education teacher. On Friday students will drive their tractors to school and have them on display for all of the students in our high school to see.
Also during the week we will have Ag Olympics. Students in the entire high school will compete in various agricultural activities during lunch for prizes. The activities include cow pie tossing, irrigation tube setting, a hay stacking contest, an irrigation boot race and a pedal tractor race.
