First Weld Cty. Fair Youth Rodeo July 27
The Weld County Fair will host a Youth Rodeo for the first time at the 2006 Weld County Fair. The rodeo will be held on Thursday, July 27, at the Island Grove Regional Park Arena. The rodeo will be open to Weld County youth between the ages of 6 and 18. Events that will take place are: Mutton Bustin’, Goat Tie Down, Barrel Racing, Pole Bending, Bull Riding, Steer Wrestling, Calf Roping, Team Roping and Breakaway. All events will be co-ed.
Most events will consist of three different age groups, with eight participants in each age group. The first eight participants of each age group for each event, who fill out a COMPLETE entry, will get to participate in that event.
Mutton Bustin’ will consist of 24 riders between the ages of 4 and 7. There will be two age categories that will have 12 participants each. A drawing will be conducted to determine the 24 riders.
