The Galeton 4-H met on March 8, 2010, at the Galeton Elementary. At this meeting we discussed collecting items for the Humane Society for our Community Service Project.

On April 10, there will be a Youth Jam at the Boulder County Fairgrounds. The cost is $20 per person. This is a great way to meet other youths and develop leadership and team building skills.

We also discussed the Youth Meat Quality Assurance Certification. This is a requirement in order to show at the Weld County Fair. We also talked about the ID days for market lamb, swine, and goat. The dates for this are May 3-6. New this year at the Weld County Fair is the Bred and Fed Market Goat Show. Flyers will be coming soon. There was also one demonstration done by Britney Klien. Brittney showed the group what you need to bring to a Swine Show. It was very informative. Demonstrations next month will be done by Blake Turrentine and Casey Cecil.

Our next meeting will be April 12 at 7 p.m.
