Halloween with Horses planned for Oct. 21
The seventh annual “Halloween with Horses” planned for Oct. 21 will offer more fun than ever before, including new horse entertainment, while favorites such as the “Stable of Terror” and the horse costume contest return. The only fall festival of its kind, the Colorado Horse Park’s Halloween with Horses offers a day of fun for the whole family. The event has been recognized nationwide as one of the most unique Halloween celebrations and attracts the support of the local community, including the Town of Parker, the Parker Library, the Parker Arts Council and hundreds of volunteers.
“Halloween with Horses has become a family and community favorite,” said Christine DeHerrera, Media Coordinator for the Colorado Horse Park. “Every year Halloween with Horses grows and grows. We get calls from around the country about this event!”
Halloween with Horses is ideal for families and horse lovers alike. A safe trick-or-treat barn, pony and horse rides, Stable of Terror, straw maze, pumpkin patch, face painting, petting zoo and horse entertainment are just a few of the ways little ghosts and goblins can have fun. Parents can enjoy the Crafter’s Fair. And of course, don’t forget the food! But the highlight of the event is the horse costume contest.
“The horse costume contest is a favorite,” commented DeHerrera. Last year the grand prize winner fashioned a carriage into the Batmobile that was drawn by the family’s miniature horse. DeHerrera continued, “We are always amazed by the amount of effort that the entrants put into these costumes.”
Halloween with Horses runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21. Tickets are $7 per person. Children under 1 are free. Parking is free.
