House, Senate out until Feb. 25
After passing the conference report on the consolidated appropriations bill for the fiscal year ending Sept. 30, the House and the Senate have left Washington until Monday, Feb. 25.
Next votes in the House are expected that day at 6:30 p.m., House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., announced.
The Senate will hold pro forma sessions Tuesday and Thursday but not hold votes until February 25 at 5:30 p.m.. when the chamber will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the motion to proceed so S. 311, to prohibit a health care practitioner from failing to exercise the proper degree of care in the case of a child who survives an abortion or an attempted abortion, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., announced.
Sens. Angus King, I-Maine, Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, Tina Smith, D-Minn., and Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, have introduced a bill to double USDA’s Market Access Program (MAP) and Foreign Market Development (FMD) Program funding.
