June deadline for hay directory listing
The Colorado Department of Agriculture is accepting listings for the 2006 Colorado Hay Directory. This popular publication helps market Colorado hay to buyers in the state and around the country.
The listing fee is $20 per submission, and the deadline is June 16, 2006. Forms are available at Colorado State University Cooperative Extension offices or by contacting the Colorado Department of Agriculture. This free directory is offered in print and will also be available on the Internet at http://www.coloradoagriculture.com in August. As an additional benefit to listees, information will also be included in the Beef Business Directory, published by the AgJournal.
Listings describe the variety and amount of hay available, bale type, whether the hay is certified weed-free and whether a laboratory analysis is available. Listings are grouped by region of the state.
For more information or to receive a listing form, contact the Markets Division at (303) 239-4115, send e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org or visit the Colorado Department of Agriculture’s Web site at http://www.coloradoagriculture.com.

Fresh spring growth is a welcome sight for producers looking for animal forage. However, this lush growth may also be the perfect set of conditions for a case of grass tetany.
