Managing annual cow costs
Barton County Extension Agent
This one is a must for cow-calf producers! But, it’s also beneficial to veterinarians, nutritionists, county agents and lenders. Kansas State University Research and Extension will host its 2nd annual K-State Beef Conference in Manhattan on the campus, August 7-8. I attended last year and I can tell you it was well worth it. This year I have too many other meetings in August and can’t hit them all.
The theme this year is “Managing Annual Cow Costs.” Some of the topics will be: Stretching Forage Resources and Reducing Forage Costs, By-Products Feeding, and Managing the Cow Herd for Optimum Production.
Speakers will be from K-State, other universities and private companies.
The program will be all day on Thursday, with an evening dinner and program. The program ends by noon on Friday.
Due to repairs at Weber Hall from the tornado, the program will be held at Frick Auditorium in Mosier Hall of the Veterinary Medicine Complex.
A full schedule is available on the Animal Sciences Website at http://www.asi.ksu.edu/beefconference. Under the species heading, click on K-State Beef Conference and then to register, click on the registration form near the top of the brochure and schedule. You can also call (785) 532-1281. We have brochures with registration forms at our office.
Start a dialogue, stay on topic and be civil.
