Missouri River Outdoor Expo set for Sept. 17-18
The 7th Annual Missouri River Outdoor Expo is scheduled for Sept. 17-18 at Ponca State Park. This free family event is designed to introduce or rekindle a family’s interest in natural resources and outdoor recreation.
Participants can experience kayaking, rock climbing, shooting, archery, camping, fly-fishing, Dutch oven cooking, and much more of the 80-plus outdoor sporting and nature-related exhibits and vendors. Among the attractions are Timberwork Lumberjacks, John Deere Gator Course, Matt Stutzman Armless Archer, K-9 Friz-B-Crew, and Splash Dogs.
The Splash Dogs dock diving competition involves athletic dogs jumping from a dock into a large pool, which is then judged for distance.
“Dock jumping for dogs is fast becoming one of America’s most popular events for pet owners and folks who just like watching these athletic dogs fly through the air,” said Tony Reed, president and founder of Splash Dogs.
To register for Splash Dogs, visit splashdogs.com, then click on Upcoming Events, and then the registration link for the Missouri River Outdoor.
The expo is open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. each day. A park entry permit is required and may be purchased at the park.
