Montana cowboy poetry gathering

Lewistown, Montana’s premier event, Cowboy Poetry Gathering, will take place August 17, 18, and 19, 2007. With host/poet Wally McRae and a Saturday night special featuring the yodeling of Canadian artist, Miriam Dreher, and the poetry and storytelling of Baxter Black.

Potential performers are encouraged to pick up registration forms at the Lewistown Art Center at (406) 535-8278. All those registering will receive a three-day pin pass and a $5.00 discount on their night show ticket. There will be “Gathering Events” including a free Thursday BBQ and poetry and music sessions starting every hour on the hour during the days. The Cowboy Bookstore is a hit every year along with the Three-Day Western Art & Gear Show. The Friday evening Jam’n Dance at the Yoga Inn provides live music and there’s also the very special Sunday Cowboy Church.

Best of all is the enjoyment that springs from old friends, talented newcomers and appreciative listeners all melding into one big Montana Cowboy Poetry Gathering that grows in Lewistown very year.
