More dollars for Colorado Ag
The U.S. Department of Agriculture has approved 14 grants to help boost the competitiveness of Colorado’s fruits, vegetables, nursery products and sod.
The Colorado Department of Agriculture said last week the grants total more than $712,000.
The grants include $100,000 for promotion through the Colorado Proud program’s summer 2012 television advertising campaign and $113,500 to the Colorado Potato Administrative Committee for identifying, branding and marketing potatoes with specific attributes.
Colorado State University is receiving three grants, including one for a market and economic analysis of Olathe sweet corn to see if a processed product is economically viable.
