Oatman family needs help following accident
Sept. 5, 2006, was Jim Oatman’s first day on the job at the Chico Basin Ranch near Hanover, Colo. He left his home at dawn with a couple of cups of coffee under his belt, and a kiss goodbye to his wife Katie.
Later that morning, Jim’s new boss found Jim’s horse without a rider. After a search was launched, Jim was found face down and unconscious. He was taken by Flight for Life to St. Mary Corwin Hospital in Pueblo that morning.
As of the time of this printing, Jim has not yet regained consciousness, though his vital signs are holding up. Katie (daughter of Milo and Joy Wilson) and Jim have a 2-year-old son, Cole, and another baby on the way. The family have been staying near the hospital in order to keep watch on Jim’s condition.
Anyone who know the Oatmans will tell you they are very loving and special people. They now need the prayers and support of their friends and fellow lovers of agriculture to help bring them through this difficult time.
A bank account has been set up in the name of Jim Oatman at Wells Fargo Bank (Account #2016675551) for those who are able to assist the family financially and with medical bills. Thank you in advance for your support of this fine family.
