Feb. 18, 1934 – July 7, 2017
Jackie Connell, 83, of Kersey, passed away July 7, 2017, at TRU Hospice of Northern Colorado. Jackie was born to Charles O'Donnell and Jean (Dale) O'Donnell on Feb. 18, 1934, in Boulder, Colo. She married Charles Connell on Sept. 16, 1951, in Lafayette, Colo., at the First Baptist Church. Charles passed away in 2001.
Jackie was a resident of Kersey since 1972 and attended Lafayette High School.
She worked as a clerk at the R & B's Market in Kersey for 17 years, helped with milking cows and always a helpful hand around the farm. She retired in 1998. She was a member of the Kersey Community Church, and was a current member of the Kersey Cowboy Church, as well as a member of the Farmers Union.
Jackie enjoyed reading, going for long car rides, watching John Wayne and Tom Selleck movies and was a big fan of the Lone Ranger. She was an avid Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies fan and loved any and all animals, especially her pet cow "Duchess" and so enjoyed watching the calves in the spring time.
Jackie is survived by her son, Larry Connell and daughter, Alison Connell.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Connell; brother, Casey O'Donnell; and son, Richard Charles Connell.
Services were held July 14, 2017, at the Allnutt Macy Chapel. Interment took place at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The reception was held in the Allnutt Reception Center.
