Frieda Rexius, 91, of Scottsbluff, formerly of Lyman, died Oct. 31, 2007, at Wel-Life in Scottsbluff with family by her side.

She was born Aug. 13, 1916, to John and Christina (Fertig) Schreiner in Morrill. She received her education in the Morrill area before working the family farm with her parents.

She married Floyd Leach on Aug. 14, 1935, and the couple farmed in the Lyman and Stegall area. A son Jerry was born to the couple before Floyd’s death in March of 1956. She moved into Lyman for a few years, where she met William Rexius, and the two were married on Feb. 15, 1960.

They farmed in the Stegall area before they retired and moved back into Lyman. She lost her second husband in August of 1985 but remained in Lyman until 2005 when she relocated to Wel-Life at Scottsbluff.

She enjoyed cooking, fishing, and embroidery work, but always helped on the farm, which occupied most of her time. She was a past member of the Methodist Church in Lyman.

Survivors include her grandsons, Rickey Leach and Daniel Leach, both of Glenrock, Wyo.; granddaughters, Michelle and Laurinda of Idaho; ex-daughter-in-law, Vernita Leach of Gering; sister, Leah Schilleriff of Scottsbluff; step-daughters, Louise Korrel of Colorado and Gloria Mares of California; numerous great-grandchildren; numerous great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; son, Jerry; sisters, Mary Schreiner and Charlotte Littell, and brother, John Schreiner.
