, 68, of Upland, Calif., died June 3, 2006, at his sister’s home in North Platte.

He was born Feb. 3, 1938, in North Platte to Arthur and Alma (Watson) Kohl. He graduated from North Platte High School in 1956.

After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a Yeoman. In 1959 after his enlistment he moved to California. There he was an entrepreneur of several art galleries, book stores, hobby shops, and a vitamin store. He also worked as a security guard and in airport transportation services. He loved to read books, especially about other places. He liked to travel, do crossword puzzles and he was a collector of bears and carousel horses.

Survivors include three sisters, Karren Binegar, Karla Meyers, and Le Etta (Bob) Coons all of North Platte; two brothers, Loyal Kohl of North Platte and Vernon Kohl of Bingham; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Kohl of North Platte; an aunt, Myrna Kohl of North Platte; numerous nieces; nephews; great nieces; great nephews; and two great-great nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Delilah Kohl; a brother, Wilbur ‘J’ Kohl; and two sisters-in-law, Bonnie Kohl and Mary Kohl.
