, 87, of rural Ogallala, died at his home on May 1, 2007. He was born Aug. 30, 1919, in Ogallala the son of August and Christine (Huff) Ivers. He grew up and attended schools in Ogallala graduating from the Ogallala High School with the class of 1937. He served in the U.S. Army from January of 1942 until October of 1945 during World War II. He married Kathryn Cox on Jan. 26, 1947. The couple spent their entire married life together on their farm northwest of Ogallala. He was a member of the Elks Lodge # 1760 and the V.F.W Survivors include three children, Eileen Ivers of Grand Island, Wayne (Karen) Ivers of Longmont, Colo., Ron (Ann) Ivers of Ogallala; three granddaughters, Maria Ivers of The Woodlands, Texas, Jill Ivers of The Woodlands, Texas, and Allison Ivers of Ogallala. He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Christine Ivers; sister, Elsie Welsh; brother, Clarence Ivers; daughter, Sharon Christine Ivers and his wife, Kathryn Florence (Cox) Ivers.
