Robert Fritzler, age 92, of Greeley, Colo., died Nov. 10, 2007, at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley.

He was born on Sept. 25, 1915, in Atwood, Colo., to Henry and Eva (Bott) Fritzler. He grew up in Merino, Colo., where he attended schools. The family farmed and ranched in Logan and Washington counties. After completing his education, he helped his family farm and ranch in Iliff and Proctor, Colo.

Robert married Elizabeth Ruff on Oct. 6, 1941, in Sidney, Neb. She died in June of this year.

In 1942, he entered the U.S. Army and served until 1945. During his time of service, he served in battles in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe, receiving the American Service Medal, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal and Good Conduct Medal.

Robert and Elizabeth moved to their farm east of Greeley in 1972. He worked for Farr Farms as a supervisor for over 20 years, retiring in 1980.

They moved to Greeley in 2003.

Robert’s life was cattle raising and farming. He enjoyed riding horses. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by one daughter, Joyce Fritzler of Greeley; two grandsons, Craig Ehrlick of Greeley, and Chad Ehrlick and wife Robi of Eaton, Colo.; one great-grandson and four great-granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a daughter Patricia Ehrlick, who died in 1987, four sisters: Clara Wolfe, Esther Kaiser, Henrietta Schuman and Bertha Luft, and two brothers, Hank and Raymond.

Services were held Nov. 15 in Greeley. Interment took place at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
