Nedra (Starbuck) Spaulding, age 72, of Cheyenne, Wyo., formerly of Walden, Colo., died June 28, 2008.

She was born Nov. 4, 1935, in Salida, Colo., to Eunice Rebecca (Sage) and Elvis Seth Starbuck. She attended school in Salida until 10th grade and graduated from Yampa Union High School in 1953. After attending Parks Business School, she went to work for an insurance company in Denver.

In November of 1956, Nedra was united in marriage to Forest Spaulding. They moved to Walden where they operated a cattle-hay ranch for 39 years. During this time she also worked as a Resource Clerk for the U.S. Forest Service, a job from which she retired after 20 years.

She was very active in her son’s school activities and 4-H clubs, was active in the North Park Community Church and taught Bible School. She also was a member of the Walden Rebekah Lodge and was Colorado Assembly President in 1993-94.

After Forest passed away, Nedra moved to Canon City, where she worked as Operator/Manager of the Legacy Center for a few years.

Nedra enjoyed traveling and visiting numerous friends and relatives. In 2005, Nedra moved to the Point Frontier Retirement Center in Cheyenne.

Nedra is survived by her son Richard Spaulding and wife Tami of Pierce, Colo.; sister Mona Weaver of Worland, Wyo.; brother Clifford and wife Jamie Starbuck of Ten Sleep, Wyo.; and sister Jerilyn Powell of Worland.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Forest.

A memorial service was held on July 19 in Walden.
