Lucille V. Luther, age 87, of Greeley, Colo., died Aug. 20, 2008, at Hospice and Palliative Care of Northern Colorado.

She was born on Feb. 18, 1921, in LaSalle, Colo., to Axel L. and Lillie (Duell) Anderson. She grew up in the Kersey area and graduated from Kersey High School in 1939. She then attended Barnes Business School in Denver, graduating in 1940.

On March 28, 1942, she married Carl Luther at the First Covenant Church in Greeley.

Lucille was the bookkeeper and co-owner of Luther Equipment LLC since 1954. She also owned and managed numerous rental properties in the Greeley area.

She enjoyed traveling, truck and tractor pulls with her family and fishing with her husband. Mrs. Luther was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Lucille was a member of the First Covenant Church.

She is survived by her husband, Carl Luther of Greeley; daughter Merna and husband Charles VanBeber of Ault, Colo.; son Merle Luther and wife Patti of Greeley; grandchildren, Mark VanBeber of Belton, Texas, Kim Wise of Ault, Monty VanBeber of Meadville, Pa., Jeff VanBeber and Travis Luther, both of Evans, Colo., and Tiffany Luther of Kearney, Neb. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; her sisters, Rachel Gordon of Golden, Colo., and Marie and husband Marlin Hoffman of Red Cloud, Neb.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services were held on Aug. 26 in Greeley. Interment took place at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
