Geneva Ruth Pantier, age 85, of Pierce, Colo., died Sept. 17, 2008, at her home.

She was born on March 13, 1923, in Miami, Okla., to Fred and Hattie Bell (Hollis) Mercer.

Geneva married Ed Pantier on July 31, 1947, in Miami. He preceded her in death on Dec. 24, 1987.

She moved to Laramie, Wyo., in 1953, and lived at the Riverside Ranch for 30 years. The couple then moved into town, where they lived for the next 20 years.

In 2007, she moved to Pierce, Colo., to be near her family in Colorado.

Geneva accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at a very young age. She was a homemaker. She loved to cook, watch birds, crochet, and was an avid fan who loved the New York Yankees. She loved singing and playing the guitar. Geneva was a kind person with a great sense of humor. She was a friend to everyone she met.

She is survived by five sons: Charlie and wife Sue of Greeley, Colo., Terry and wife Judy of Laramie, Wyo., Ken and wife Pat of Pierce, Rick and wife Joleen, and Mark and wife Marti, all of Laramie; two daughters: Pat Veretto of Greeley, and Beverly and husband Harold Browitt of Pierce; 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by five brothers: Bud Mercer and wife Ardith, Bob Mercer and wife Wanda Lea, George Mercer and wife Claudette, Jack Mercer and wife Donna, and Denny Mercer and wife Penny, all of Miami; and two sisters: Wanda and husband Dave Carey of Alvo, Neb., and Gaye and husband Frank Miller of Joplin, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ed; one sister, and her son, James Pantier.

No services were held. Cremation took place.
