Betty Schnabel, of Wellington, Colo., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Jan. 22, 2009, at her home.

She was born Jan. 4, 1948, in Eureka, S.D., to Bertha and August Guthmiller. Betty was one of 19 children.

On Feb. 9, 1969, she married her sweetheart, Lesley R. Schnabel of Eureka. They were blessed with two boys.

In March of 1972, they moved to Fort Collins, Colo. In the fall of 1996, they moved to Wellington.

Betty loved Elvis and was an avid collector. She also loved crafting, cooking and taking care of her granddaughters. She loved family gatherings.

She is survived by her loving husband, Les; two sons: Stacy Schnabel of Wellington, Colo., and Wade Schabel and wife Becky of Eaton, Colo.; two granddaughters, Brittney Schnabel of St. Charles, Mich., and Ashley Schnabel of Eaton. Betty is also survived by sisters, Gladys Kirschenman of League City, Texas, Gerty Pfieffle of Timber Lake, S.D., Mabel Davis of Wichita, Kan., Delores Fonder of Ipswich, S.D., Darlene and husband Stanley Biel of Douglas, Wyo., and Linda and husband Ray Brook of France; brothers Reiny Guthmiller and wife Lorraine of Belle Plains, Minn., Miburt Guthmiller and wife Alice of Dassel, Minn., Melvin Guthmiller and wife Judy of St. Paul, Minn., Herb Guthmiller and wife Judy of Little Canada, Minn., Eddie Guthmiller and wife Charlotte of Circle Pines, Minn., and numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers: Eugene, August, Marvin and Rueben; and three infant siblings.

Funeral services were held on Jan. 28 in Fort Collins, Colo. Interment took place at Roselawn Cemetery.
