A former Air Force pilot, rancher, Quarter Horse breeder, cutting horse champion, Auctioneer, licensed guide, hunter, fisherman, outdoorsman, father, grandfather and friend ” no man successfully reinvented himself more times.

No man could more easily make a friend from a stranger. No man loved life more. He lived what he believed and died in peace. He will be missed by many in all walks of life.

Jerry is survived by his three daughters: Linda Mills-Hovance of Arvada, Colo., Laura Smith of Cañon City, Colo., and Penny Mills of Nashville, Tenn.

An informal memorial service for all his friends will be held on Feb. 21, 2009, at the Elk’s Club in Cripple Creek, Colo.
