Donald Wagner, 78, of Pierce passed away peacefully at home Aug. 7, 2018, after a long battle with cancer.
He was born May 31, 1940, to Carl and Leah (Day) Wagner, a German-Russian family in Fort Collins, Colo.
Don grew up working in the beet fields around Fort Collins. He married his wife of 56 years, Sharon Tilger-Wagner on Sept. 9, 1961. He farmed for 35 years, first in Fort Collins, then later moving to the Ault-Pierce area where he farmed several different farms. After retiring from farming, he had various jobs as a truck driver. In 2003, Don opened Ault Rental with his son, Scott.
He enjoyed his family, working, water skiing, volleyball, camping, stirring up trouble and having coffee with many people in the community.
Donald is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughter, Donna (Mark) Druyff; son, Scott (Maria) Wagner; grandchildren, Amanda (Joe) Kelly, Dustin Kern, Stephanie Wagner, Kim Wagner, Heaton Hall, Destini (Brandon) Brewer, Matt (Lauren) Smith; great grandchildren, Coleton and Sawyer Jo Kelly and Madison Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Leah Wagner; and brother, Ron Wagner.
The family hosted an open house to celebrate Don's life from Aug. 23, 2018, at the Ault VFW, 100 1st Ave.
