Merl Stryker, 71

July 27, 1949 – March 31, 2020

Nunn, Colo.

Merl Stryker passed away March 31, 2020, at his home in Nunn, Colo. He was born July 27, 1949, in Denver to Ernie Roy and Leona Mabel (Shrider) Stryker. He married Pamela J. Ingram on Feb. 11, 1994, in Cheyenne, Wyo.

He grew up on the family farm, northwest of Haxtun, Colo. He attended Haxtun schools and graduated from Haxtun High School in 1967.

Merl loved farming and operating heavy equipment. His favorite piece of heavy equipment was the scraper. He worked for Lawson Construction, Denver, for several years. He loved to tinker and make numerous items throughout his life. He designed and built a train from a lawn mower and plastic drums. He would give rides to children at the Nunn Days celebration, for a number of years.

He served as a preacher at the Church Of The Brethren in Haxtun.

Merl is survived by his wife, Pamela Stryker; two daughters; a son; two sisters; a brother; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Merl was preceded in death by his mother, his father, and a daughter, Hope Ann.
