Donald R. Reid, died on Friday, June 20, 2008, at his residence in Crawford, Colorado. He was eighty years of age.

Donald R. Reid was born to Percy Reid and Winifred Turner on April 17, 1928 in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. He spent his childhood in various areas including Hillsboro and Kingston, New Mexico. He attended school in Silver City, New Mexico.

On April 19, 1988, Donald married Joyce “Joy” Hunt in Delta, Colorado. They celebrated over twenty years of love and marriage together this past spring. Joy survives.

Donald was a rancher for many years. He was a member of several organizations throughout the community including: Hotchkiss Elks Lodge Post #1807, Delta County Livestock Association, and was the president of the Crawford Mesa Water Company for many years.

Donald’s interests included his love for ranching, four-wheeling, bowling, dancing, and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by those that had the privilege to love and know him.

Donald is survived by two son, Mike Reid and his wife Virginia of Elk City, OK; Monte & Anita Munkres of Loveland, CO; two daughters, Tina Ellenberger and her husband Scott of Chino Hills, CA, and Mary Leeds of Greeley, CO; one sister, Lois K. Reid of Grand Junction, CO; and a sister-in-law, Lois “Teeney” Reid of Tucson, AZ. Donald is further survived by thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Mark Reid; and one daughter, Charlene Vance.
